Simone Biles wins 9th US Gymnastics championship, The veteran gymnast had an all-around total score of 119.750.

Ahead of this summer’s Olympic Games in Paris, Simone Biles dominated the U.S. Gymnastics Championships, taking home her ninth all-around title on Sunday.

The 27-year-old competed in the uneven bars, floor exercise, balance beam, and vault, finishing with a cumulative score of 119.750.

The seven-time Olympian and seasoned gymnastics competitor made one oversight in the vault while attempting her signature move, the “Biles.”

She dismissed it swiftly, though, stating, “I’m not mad,” in reference to her performance.

Even so, she was able to easily secure the top spot on the podium, with Skye Blakely, her closest rival, coming in second with 5.900 points. Third place went to Kayla DiCello.

After withdrawing from a few events at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics due to emotional health issues, Biles has insisted on fighting back.

“After Tokyo, it was difficult—just to believe in myself,” she remarked at a press conference after winning.
