Arsenal Defender William Saliba transfer Rumor. Arsenal is now anxiously anticipating Tuesday’s match against Tottenham and Manchester City.

The Gunners know they will have the upper hand over City in the title fight if Spurs win or even draw. The team led by Mikel Arteta is currently atop the Premier League after defeating Manchester United on Sunday.

The chase for the championship will continue to the end, but a City victory over Spurs would guarantee they raise the trophy on Sunday. Though there’s still a chance to snap a 20-year title drought, the summer transfer window draws some interest.

As the Gunners consider a move, top target Alexander Isak has conducted negotiations with Newcastle, and Arteta has been pushed to push for the signing of Jadon Sancho. Mirror Football compiles all of the most recent Arsenal news here.

Saliba claim dismissed

William Saliba’s claim to be the finest defender in the Premier League this year has been refuted by Rio Ferdinand. Although the Gunners defeated Manchester United and Saliba was awarded man of the match, Ferdinand is not persuaded by the Frenchman.

“I don’t think Saliba’s been the best Arsenal defender this season, to say he’s the best in the league is a stretch I think, Van Dijk’s been back to somewhere near his best by the way,” he stated on the podcast Vibe with Five.

“I think Saliba is better on the eye, he’s a more cleaner and composed defender 100%, it’s just what you like to see sometimes, I think Gabriel’s the more aggressive [and] combative [defender], wants the 1v1 duels, goes into challenges and comes out of it.”

Legendary Arsenal player Emmanuel Petit has pushed his former teammate to make a massive summer transfer for Jadon Sancho. This summer, the winger is expected to depart Manchester United, and Petit thinks the Emirates Stadium would be his ideal destination.

“I was expressing my admiration for Jadon Sancho during the Champions League on commentary; he appears to be a completely new player—slim, fit, and energetic. He told Grosvenor Sport, “He’s like dynamite on the pitch, so explosive on the ball, so hard to catch.”

“He’s back to his best and Man United look so far away from them, so if Arsenal want him, why not? You can put the best player in the world at Man United at the moment and they’d look average in two months.”

Isak holds Newcastle talks

Yasir Al Rumayyan, the Saudi chairman of Newcastle, and Alexander Isak, the top summer target for Arsenal, have had discussions. The Gunners are keeping a close eye on the striker, but the Magpies have placed a £120 million price tag on him.

Despite the high cost, the Gunners will still pursue the player because Mikel Arteta wants to increase his offensive alternatives. Isak and Newcastle’s manager, Al Rumayyan, have spoken after Isak’s team’s season-ending home match.

The billionaire from Saudi Arabia was in Tyneside to discuss the season and summer preparations. Newcastle is eager to offer the Swedish international a fresh deal, and Isak’s case is a top priority for them.
