The altercation begins when Jim and two other people are getting down an escalator at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, according to newly discovered footage that TMZ has obtained. Though the exact cause of the encounter is unknown, things get heated up fast.
Jim Jones appears to be punching an elderly man in the leg as he strikes the two people, and as he hits the escalator’s bottom, it’s obvious he hurts himself severely.
While several complain and try to flee the violent scene, a woman attempts to turn off the escalator, but the brawl goes on.
Eventually, two policemen break up the fight; Jim quickly releases the man he’s holding, who, incidentally, seems to be gushing blood. “It’s two of them against me,” he cries in protest, but he gives in to the officer’s lead and enables him to be seated.
Not quite so composed, one of the others tries to escape a sheriff’s deputy’s hold, but other cops show up and prevent him from going any farther.
Jim responded to our message and told TMZ Hip Hop, “I stood up for myself while going about my business. They discovered what they were searching for.
We have contacted the local police, but we have not received a response. It is unknown if anyone was taken into custody.
