Early life

Born and raised in Croatia to an agricultural worker Alvise and his wife Rina alongside his twin Aldo. The twins together with their parents migrated to Italy due to the war in Croatia causing them to lose all their properties.

They began schooling in Italy where they developed a strong interest in race driving.

Career

Mario alongside his twin Aldo began their racing after being hired to work in a car-packing company owned by Marco de Cesari and Danilo Piccinini. The owners put the twins on in a racing tournaments which gave them their first exposure.

Mario’s family later relocated to the USA where he and his twin began racing in mini-competitions at the blind side of their parents. Mario took part in his first racing game in the USA called the USAC racing which he emerged the winner. He then went on to compete in other competitions both locally and internationally winning several games including the Indianapolis Raceway park in 1965, the Indianapolis rookie award, and the Wide world of sports athlete of the year.

Mario then competed in his first formula one game after assuring the engineer and Lotus owner Colin Chapman he can compete in the game. He was able to impress upon the chance given to him making him be given full status with the company.

Mario enjoyed a successful career under formula one winning several games which at a point demanded for a pay rise. He later moved to Newman/Haas racing where he set several records such as Indycar racing, and the Indianapolis 500, and was later included in the Motorsports hall of fame.

After retiring from the game, Mario appeared in several movie projects like Home Improvement, Superspeedway, Turbo, and Driven which were all car movies.

Born on 28th February 1940 in Croatia, Aldo just like his twin brother began a career in car racing at a very young age taking part in several tournament games.

Unfortunately, his career was hit by a series of life-threatening injuries that deformed most of his body parts. He called it quits and ventured into business. Aldo passed away in 2020 after contracting coronavirus.

Mario married tutor Dee Ann in the early 60s and welcomed three kids Michael, Jeff, Barbie, and seven grandchildren Marco, Marissa, and Lucca.
