Manchester United contact’ with Kieran McKenna. According to sources, Manchester United has contacted Kieran McKenna about potentially taking Erik ten Hag’s place at Old Trafford this summer.

Kieran McKenna, a former Manchester United coach, has led Ipswich Town to many promotions and will make his Premier League debut next season.

After placing second in League One and the Championship, the Ipswich Town manager was delighted to receive back-to-back promotions with the Tractor Boys. To accept his first management post at Portman Road, McKenna left his position as United’s first-team coach.

Foot Mercato claims that United’s new INEOS administration has gotten in touch with McKenna’s representatives, suggesting that the Red Devils are trying to gauge the 38-year-old’s interest in rejoining the team. The Guardian reports that his former team is among the several Premier League teams interested in signing him.

Many names have been linked to taking over at Old Trafford, including McKenna, as Ten Hag’s future becomes increasingly murky. Gareth Southgate, the England manager, is reportedly also a candidate.

At the end of the season, United manager Ten Hag is anticipated to find out if his services will be continued. His team still has a chance to win the FA Cup, but it may also miss out on Europe for the first time since 2014.

Working under Ralf Rangnick, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and Jose Mourinho, McKenna relished his tenure in the North West. The Ipswich boss left only to pursue a career in management.

I might see a future there, but I’ve always wanted to work in management—I’ve had that goal since I started coaching. Because the club was based in Ipswich, I was aware of its history and traditions when I first got in touch with it.

“I was also aware of the present state of affairs regarding ownership and the financial commitments made to the club and those made in the future. I appreciate that they gave me this chance because it was the appropriate moment to move forward, and the club profile fit my needs. I’ll return the favor in the future.
