Callum Hudson-Odoi’s outstanding performance for Nottingham Forest. Following his stunning goal against his former team on Saturday, Callum Hudson-Odoi has been backed to disprove Chelsea.

The Nottingham Forest winger, who played on loan at German team Bayer Leverkusen during the 2022–2023 season, concluded his 16-year relationship with Chelsea last summer. Hudson-Odoi’s Blues career faded after he was once predicted to be the next great thing at Stamford Bridge under Maurizio Sarri, but he has since found his form at the City Ground.

His curling goal against Chelsea gave Forest statistical safety. Still, late goals from Nicolas Jackson and Raheem Sterling condemned Hudson-Odoi and company to a humiliating 3-2 loss. Even with three points and a 12-goal advantage over Luton in 18th place heading into Sunday’s season finale, Forest is still unlikely to be relegated.

With four goals in his past seven games, 23-year-old Hudson-Odoi has emerged as a revelation on Forest’s left wing in recent weeks. Ironically, the home crowd screamed, “Chelsea reject! Chelsea reject!” as the former England international scored against the Blues.

Hudson-Odoi’s teammate Ola Aina, with whom he played while in the Blues junior academy, anticipates great things from his friend shortly. “Everyone knows he’s a fantastic player with bags of talent, and he is full of confidence right now,” Aina stated following the match.

He’s a tough guy to play against when he’s playing well. We’re overjoyed that he was performing at that level for us near the end of the campaign.”

Aina is shocked by the £5 million Forest paid for the 23-year-old. The wing-back continued, “He is a deal. “For him, it all comes down to gaining regular playing time and producing consistent results—assembling a string of consecutive intense games.

The only thing Callum truly needed was a consistent run of games. Fortunately, he’s receiving that here and rewarding the club and the manager for their faith in him.

“He will only continue to improve. He looks to have been around for a very long time. Therefore, it’s amazing that he’s just 23 years old. I look forward to seeing what he can accomplish if he keeps improving.”

In February, Nuno Espirito Santo, the manager of Forest, stated that the fact that the player has been playing is significant for him. You become better when you get to play. Although he’s getting along well with his teammates, we still have high expectations because of his talent.”
