A professional deal is being discussed between Arsenal and the adolescent attacker Chido Obi-Martin. Still, before he can sign with the Gunners, he could be signed by another team in Europe.
Bayern Munich is after Arsenal’s young talent, Chido Obi-Martin, who may be persuaded to leave the Emirates before signing a professional contract.
16-year-old Obi-Martin has made headlines for Arsenal’s academy squads with many incredible goal hauls this year. He scored seven goals in the U18s’ 9-0 victory against Norwich City just last weekend, and he scored ten goals in one game for the Under-16s against Liverpool earlier in the season.
The gifted youngster is well-liked at Hale End, and Arsenal is now negotiating a contract with Obi-Martin’s agents that would bind him to the team when he reaches 17 later this year.
Although Football Association regulations prohibited English teams from signing players for professional deals before that time, other European countries were not subject to the same limitations, which left Arsenal at a disadvantage.
According to a recent article from The Telegraph, Obi-Martin’s outstanding goal-scoring abilities have attracted suitors from all over Europe. Among these fans is Bayern Munich, though it’s unclear if the German powerhouses want to express their interest at this point formally.
At the junior level, Obi-Martin has represented Denmark and England. His remarkable improvement has made the Londoners want to cling to him. He departed Denmark at 14 to join the Gunners from Kjobenhavns Boldklub.
Even though he is already drawing interest, Obi-Martin has declared his desire to stay at Arsenal for the foreseeable future.
I would like to stay at Arsenal for a long time,” the young player, who Elite Project Group represents—the same agency that manages Eddie Nketiah and Bukayo Saka—told Bold.dk earlier this month. It’s a nice club, and my training is improving significantly.
“I’m thrilled to be here because there are so many wonderful people and coaches.” Perhaps starting with the upcoming season, I will have to play for U21 permanently. It will be a great opportunity for me because the group doesn’t have many forwards.
“Arsenal is a club that gives young talents the opportunity to play.”
