Ryker Webb, age 4, is a toddler from Troy, Montana, who vanished from his house on the 3rd to 6th of July 2022. No foul play was suspected by authorities. His disappearance had made headlines, due to the images of him after he was found.
Disappearance
On the 3rd of July 2022, 4-year-old Ryker Webb was in the backyard of his residence in Troy, Montana, playing with his father and dogs. His father had gone inside the house, leaving Webb by himself. While unsupervised, Webb had vanished. At approximately 16:53, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office received a report from a concerned neighbor about the possible disappearance of Webb. The initial clothing description provided to authorities was deemed accurate. It was unknown what Webb had been wearing at the time of his disappearance.
A team of ground searchers, ATVs, drones, and dog teams were deployed, along with a boat unit on the lake. Search efforts had been hindered due to poor weather conditions. Other factors such as heavy vegetation had reduced visibility and also hindered the search effort
Shortly after, a code red alert was distributed across all neighbors in the area, instructing them to search their properties for Webb.

Ryker Webb Reappearance
On the 6th of July 2022, 53 personnel were searching when they received news that Ryker Webb had been found. A couple found Ryker Webb after they heard whimpers coming from a shed. Authorities immediately responded to Pine Ridge Road in Sanders County and it was determined that the child found was Webb. The toddler was found tucked into a lawnmower bag, an attempt he made to stay warm. The temperature was near-freezing. He was found approximately 2.4 miles (3.9km) away from his residence. Further DNA testing proved that he was Webb. The clothing Webb was wearing at the time he was found was discovered to have not belonged to him. He was wearing a dirty blue onesie, with rips on it.
Webb had told authorities that he had gone for a walk and then became tired.
Webb also had a particular interest in bugs, he overturned some rocks on the path to the shed.
Investigations By The Police
It was determined by the neighbor that Webb was missing for at least two-hours before authorities were notified.
Authorities are investigating why the parents had waited two hours to report his disappearance. Child protective services also responded, and police are further investigating possible cases of negligence and child endangerment. The case remains open.
