Nana Kwame Bediako, popularly known as Cheddar, is an independent presidential candidate and the founder of the New Force Movement. He has refuted reports that he has a criminal history.
This comes after claims that he was found guilty of a crime many years ago while residing in London.
In a Zoom conversation with self-described entrepreneur Sikaofficial, Cheddar claimed the accusations were untrue and designed to damage his reputation.
He acknowledged that despite being detained multiple times in London for infractions such as moving violations, he had never been prosecuted or found guilty for any of those crimes. According to Nana Kwame Bediako, his arrests were primarily due to his immaturity and carelessness. Nevertheless, they were not severe enough to enter his record or lead to a conviction. He challenged anyone who thought he had a criminal history to present evidence.
“During my time in London, I was detained for driving and for doing things like going to nightclubs when we were kids. However, I have no criminal history and was not charged after being detained.
Therefore, he stated, “They have to bring the charge and the proof if someone is saying I have a criminal record.”
However, he warned them they could do nothing to block his shine.
The opponent believes that he can bring me down because of the heights I have attained. I couldn’t be broken, not even at my lowest. They think they can shatter me because they have waited for me to go this far. “I’ll let God take care of those people. However, he added that they ought to present it if they have any evidence that I have a criminal history.
When asked what motivates him to work towards bringing about change throughout Africa, especially in Ghana, he said:
Nana Kwame Bediako told TV3’s Alfred Ocansey, “I get my inspiration from poverty, the nation’s leaders, systems, and the likes of the figures from the 60s, including Kwame Nkrumah and Patrice Lumumba.”
